When we get that first job, I would encourage you to start a blog and use it as the primary vehicle to communicate with parents and students. As you are already seeing, you can communicate text, pictures, and video, and do it all pretty easily.
Imagine a one-minute video every week where you tell parents what it is you are doing in class and why you are doing it. Imagine your blog being the one-stop shop where students see assignments and upcoming events.
